Restaurant Review - Hoppipola

Hoppipola is one of my favorite places for dinner and drinks in Pune! This all day dining Resto Bar is is perfect for you and your friends to enjoy good food and pocket friendly drinks along with fun games and good music. It has a lovely Mediterranean themed decor and the outside section is really cute with lots of greenery. I went there recently with my friend Niki and we had a great time over some really unique and delicious food and equally good drinks!

We started our meal with Hot Chick, an Indo Chinese dish which tastes somewhat close to Chilly Chicken. This is perfect for all you lovers of Indian Chinese food out there.

This was followed by Chicken Trilogy which consisted of tender strips of chicken grilled in 3 different types of marinades. All three were really good but the white one stole the show! Absolutely heavenly!

They have a really great range of some very unique cocktails which you cant find anywhere else and we tried a bunch of them. I love how they've used dry ice and have a lot of smoky drinks. This is the Auckland Ice Freeze which is a Malibu and Kiwi LIT and is just so delicious and has the perfect amount of sweetness for my taste buds! They serve it with dry ice and this is what it looks like -

We also tried a cocktail called the Bird Cage which is a unique cocktail made of white rum, orange liquer, hazelnut, kiwi and pomegranate. This was nice and strong! We also had the Kiss of Love, a gin based cocktail blended with orange liqueur, raspberry, passion fruit, basil and black pepper. I just loved how basil changes the complete flavor of this drink. You must try it!!

After washing those drinks down, we moved on to the Peppery Crustaceans - prawns tossed in garlic butter pepper sauce. This was really good too!

One of my favorite dishes there is the Chicken Sanskari Tacos. Besides the hilarious name, the funnest part about these is that the filling tastes like Bhel Puri flavored chicken. And come on, who doesn't love Bhel?? I wish the tacos were a little thinner though!

To wash these down, we had the Desi Martini, which is nice and spicy thanks to its mix of vodka, pomegranate, coriander and red chili. Since I love spicy drinks, this one gets five stars from me. We also had the Hot Passion Martini which was made of vodka, chili vermoth, pineapple and passion fruit. I loved it because of the touch of chili and because I don't really like sweet drinks much.

Many of there drinks are served separately with smoke to add a smoky flavor to it. Here's me making one of them -

Finally for main courses, we tried the Peri Peri Chicken Biryani which is a bestseller here. This fun biryani has an off beat taste due to the use of peri peri spices! It was pretty good and unique compared to ordinary biryani.

Besides food and drinks Hoppipola has a lot of other fun stuff. There is a wall full of clocks and they give you two chances to open any one of the little doors. If you find a shot glass, then you get a free shot! Check me out trying my luck below -

Both me and Niki got lucky and managed to find one shot glass each so here we are with our prizes!

Overall, we had a really great time at Hoppipola! The food, drinks, music, ambience and service were all superb and I'm definitely going back real soon! I totally recommend you to try this place out! I went to the outlet in Amanora Mall so you know where to go the next time you want to spend a fun evening out with friends over good food and great drinks!
