Outfit - 90s Girl

If you grew up in the 90s, you definitely know what a tattoo choker is. For those of you in India, you might remember that we used to get a set of this free with Elle 18 deos which were quite a rage way back around 1998-2000. It was the accessory du jour among me and my friends when we were eight graders and thanks to the fact that they came free with a deo, we had quite of few of them. Tattoo chokers weren't just for regular people, mind you. They popped up in Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Buffy the Vampire Slayer so the whole world was quite smitten by them. If you're from the younger lot of fashionistas, the tattoo choker necklace is a tight, springy, lace-like plastic necklace designed to sit snugly against your neck. They suddenly re-emerged in the fashion scene a few months ago, and I was delighted to see my childhood favorite around once again and got myself a set immediately. The set consists of a bracelet, a ring and a necklace. I was wearing mine when I was in holiday in Bali last month (you can see the post here) and even there I saw a girl walking around wearing one and it brought a smile to my face. Since I'm a fashion chameleon and switch between styles, I feel the necklace goes best with a goth/boho vibe so I paired it with a fitted black bandage crop top and palazzo pants for a casual yet edgy look. I guess my top half gives a 'The Craft' kinda vibe :)
