Restaurant Review - Cafe Colombia

Cafe Colombia is an all day Cafe situated in a quiet leafy lane of Kalyani Nagar in Pune. Bustling with youngsters and offering an extensive world cuisine menu, this lovely cafe has a cozy ambiance with many interesting details in the decor. Apart from great coffee and super coolers, it serves awesome breakfast, lunch and dinner. The setting of this place is perfect to hang out with a group of friends or to sit back with a cup of coffee and a good book on a lazy afternoon by yourself.

I went there with my girlfriends recently and had a great time chatting up over good food and drinks and clicking pictures for our blogs.

Check out my review below -

As you enter, its beautiful turquoise interiors, tasteful decor and casual yet comfortable seating options give you a Mediterranean cafe like feel.

Cafe Colombia boasts of an all day breakfast menu that offers a wide range of omelettes, waffles, pancakes, paninis and sandwiches. They also serve hot dogs, burgers, pizzas, pastas, salads, soups, steaks, grills and stews and mini meals. Phew, that's a lot of food! They also have a passport menu that serves classic Indian and South East Asian favorites. Besides these, this is probably one of the few restaurants in India that serves Colombian cuisine.

To start with drinks, we ordered the Passion Fruit Ice tea, Mango Smoothie and Strawberry Banana Smoothie. All three were refreshing and delicious.

We began our meal with Stuffed Crumbed Mushrooms which consisted of juicy mushrooms and jalapenos encased in a crispy outer shell  and was served with a delicious Aioli sauce. This was absolutely delicious and we wolfed it down in no time.

In main course, we ordered the Buerre Blanc Basa which had juicy chunks of delicious Basa fish smothered in a creamy sage flavored sauce served with mashed potatoes and sauteed veggies. The white sauce was delicious and complimented the taste and texture of the fish perfectly.

My friend Natasha was in the mood for some fish too and ordered the Goan Fish Curry Rice, a creamy and flavorful dish which was served with a salad and papad. The thick gravy was infused with coconut milk, giving it an wholesome and hearty flavor.

The third dish we got was the Lamb Stew, a wholesome stew filled with the goodness of vegetables, potatoes, herbs, white wine and lamb of course. This stew was perfect comfort food as described by my friend who had it.

As we sat outside to click some pictures, we couldn't help but notice a bunch of adorable and friendly dogs who also hang out at Cafe Colombia regularly. This one was particularly very friendly and happily posed for pictures with us.

Here is a close up of him tilting his head and giving us the perfect doggie model pose :)

Here are Natasha and me posing with the menus like we're advertising for them :)

Overall, we loved the ambiance, food and drinks at Cafe Colombia and if you happen to be in Pune, you must visit this place! I can guarantee you that you won't be disappointed!
