LFW Day 3 : Anita Dongre

Anita Dongre’s “Waves of Joy” collection, the final show of day 3 of the Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2012 was presented in collaboration with Design HQ from Godrej Interio. The most enjoyable part of the show was the start when the first model walked the ramp and thanks to special effects on the screens the runway came to life with an animated box and fairy dust sprinkle all around.

The collection was divided into two sections. The first section consisted of flowy beautiful gowns, maxi dresses, jersey kaftans, dresses with cutaway shoulders, halter maxis, palazzos, skirts and delicate lacy blouses. Their colour palette was pastel for with creations in pink, lime, sea green, aqua and peach played a medley with muted grey and yellow.

The second half based in black and white section featured dresses and saris with sequin borders. I've always been a fan of her designs and the intricate detailing on her garments. Design HQ from Godrej Interio is a range of stylish skins for sofas created by Anita Dongre. They were revealed to the audience, in the form of an animated sofa that appeared on the screens showing the runway, stopping the models and the designer and then making way for them.
